Waypath gives you a bunch of similar entries with semantic matching which produces text that is related to the title of the page. That is one of the items that G**gle is always looking for. Think of it as more related text for indexing.

Most of these are already implemented on my blog. I make a list of all hacks to make upgrades easier and more streamlined. I would simply add a couple more and zip up my own blog. ;)

I was thinking of adding:

1) Threaded comments
2) Alex's Last visit
3) Waypath (which really helps with G**gle BTW)
4) LinkBlog with RSS feed
5) Users Online
6) Most Popular posts
7) Most Commented posts
8) Last x comments
9) Built in stats from either MtDewVirus or Matt (yours)
10) Built in translation either through Google or my script
11) Built in moblog functionality
12) Sticky posts
13) Comment Spam Blacklist integrated
14) Built in referrer list using downes' script (which is downloadable)
15) A choice of 4 or 5 themes, with Alex's Style Switcher
16) Clickable smilies on comment and post pages
17) Built in LiveJournal/MT/Blogger/any blog tool with XMLRPC Update
18) One of the many photo hacks (Im partial to Alex's)
19) Photo/keyword placement or highlight tags within a post
20) Search engine welcome and highlite script
21) Cookie managed breadcrumbs
22) Alex's groups hack (optional)
23) A custom page to configure pingers(much like MT)
24) A setting to make older entries comment moderated(optional)
25) Mozilla Right Click Blog This xpi builder (optional)
26) Backup and restore files and database built in

I think that a lot of people expect WP to be “out of the box” ready. I would definitely ask Matt, but I would think it would be okay. It’s not like they are selling the code or anything.

Well one of the ideas has always been that the good hacks are either included with WP or their funcitonality is duplicated and included. What hacks did you have in mind?

I think it’s a wonderful idea. I love WordPress, but the hacks are beyond me, so I would love to get them all implemented.
