A pre-hacked pre-packaged version of WordPress 1.01

Do you think there would be any interest in a pre-hacked, pre-packaged version of WordPress (just like this blog) with this template thrown in? Would there be any interest in having me setup a WordPress blog (pre-hacked and packaged of course) for someone to just blog with and not worry about the code (or the setup on their server)? Would Matt and other WordPress devs be pissed at me? :)

  1. I think that a lot of people expect WP to be “out of the box” ready. I would definitely ask Matt, but I would think it would be okay. It’s not like they are selling the code or anything. ;)

  3. I’ve been thinking about a way to automate applying my hacks into a weekly build… especially the skins and things like that.

  4. Well one of the ideas has always been that the good hacks are either included with WP or their funcitonality is duplicated and included. What hacks did you have in mind?

  5. I think it’s a wonderful idea. I love WordPress, but the hacks are beyond me, so I would love to get them all implemented.
