Drummer on "Ringtone upload unsupported content type error -- NEED HELP!!"

I have a Verizon Motorola MOTORAZR V3m and I been making ringtones using websites like www.cellsea.com, or making them using Audacity. But every time that I try to upload it to my phone, using the web browser on my phone, it won't let me and an error message says "unsupported content type". I have checked and suposively my phone supports Mp3's (which i'm using), and I have tried changing the files from stereo to mono. but each time, same error : "unsupported content type". I really need help with this. Any ideas?

i keep getting this error when trying to upload an mp3:
Your file type is (please include if emailing me with a problem): application/force-download
Wrong file type
Allowed extensions include .gif, .jpeg, .png, .qcel, .midi, qcp

i made the mp3 using the exact same program i used for other mp3s i have successfully uploaded in the past. why am i being told i can't upload mp3s now?

i get Error 906 Invalid Descriptor when i try and download an approx 30kb 224x168 jpeg to my Samsung M300 (solo mobile canada). Ive had no problems with midi's etc....

Ok, I received the text message with the ring tone. I open the message and click on "Go To" so it brings me to the download site. The link is there that says "Download" and when I click it, my phone receives the tone and will play it. However, I can't seem to figure out where the tone is going or how to save it? Can anyone please help?

when i go to download the file it says "unsupported content type"
the ringer is .mp3 and my phone plays mp3's.

if you are getting an error 404 after going to the link, i may have found a solution. Does your file name have spaces? some browsers do not support spaces. Changing your file name to something without spaces will get you to the correct link.

i have a sumsung a900. evertime i upload a ringtone, it downloads but when i go to listen to the ringtone it says i need to ge a handler. i my phone capable to use this service and if so can someone please help me

I'm curious why pmds are not supported. isn't it just a simple matter of allowing them to be uploaded?

I am getting the same error sending a non-progressive fairly standard jpg @ 640 x 480, 20k to a sprint pcs sanyo VI-2300. I've sent a bunch of ringtones to it and had no problems so far but haven't been able to successfully send an image.

it seems to download it just says failed to install.

There is a size limit on the files you can upload. It is between 19 and 20kb. This makes sense for midi based ring tones. You can find small midi at http://www.ingeb.org and also at a web site called Digital Tradition. You can also Google folk and midi.

I keep getting an error message from the download link ... using virgin mobile us, switch back and pay through the nose (pay as you go is their euphanism i believe). anyone know? thanks!

It would be nice if you added support for surewest located in california.

http://mobile.surewest.com/ explains that the email address for each phone is 10-digit-mobile-number@mobile.surewest.com

yep ya do have to pay for the downloading but it still isn't as much as a ringtone lol...i can get around 2-4 ringtones with 1$ depends on size though.

First use Cell upload to get the message to your phone.Then press the options button there should be an option called launch browser.Your browser should open up and u should be presentend with a download link press the ok button to download! Its as easy that! Oh yea it does cost to the browser wich is only a doller but who cares! also I did this with the new switch back phone so I don't have knowledge of the virgin mobile phones.

Any wayz if u need more help i'll see what i can do.

you have to press the menu button when u are in the message, then go to "GO TO URL", then click the "DOWNLOAD FILE" link, then it should start downloading.

I got the same problem only I copied the URL to my wireless web and then it says the page can't be displayed. What is going on? My service is TMobile and my phone is a Motorola v330.
